SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, was first reported to the WHO on 31 December 2019 after a slew of cases appeared in Wuhan, China. In the space of 10 months, the virus has been detected in over 35 million people worldwide and has killed over 1,000,000.
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness and its primary transmission route is through person-to-person contact and through direct contact with respiratory droplets generated by an infected person.
Scientists now believe that the virus can remain viable on hard, non-porous surfaces, such as plastic or steel, for approximately three days, and on rough surfaces like cardboard for approximately one day.
Efficacy Testing Against Coronaviridae Viruses
Invisi Smart technology has been successfully tested against human coronaviruses: Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-related coronavirus (MERS-CoV) and the SARS-CoV-2 virus’s spike protein by the University of Cambridge.
